I just wanna say; Auston's lookin' pretty good at this tournament! Sure, he has McDavid as a line mate but I believe going from 13th forward to first line, and getting 3 pts in 3 games (plus 1 pt in 2 exhibition games) has gotta count for something! :-)
Leafs are expected to play their last FIVE 1st round picks tonight. Don't imagine that has happened too much in the modern era. Probably going to have 15-17 of their season opener starters going tonight.
So far....
Prust has looked really, really good....doubt there is a roster spot however. Leafs only have a couple of spots and they have to hold one in case they lose the Cowan arbitration.
Marner has looked dominate so far.
Nylander needs to learn to play 3 periods. His 1st period the other night was as good as it gets....didn't notice him the rest of the game.
Kappy is looking better than at anytime last year.

Marner's hands and edges are all world. I would like to see him up against a full NHL team though. The habs outfit last night was a joke. Matthews is NHL ready now. Zaitsev will be a nice addition.

Having only seen him at the Junior level I was really keen to see what he looked like on NHL ice, even if playing an AHL team.
He looked pretty solid - seems Babcock not as happy with all the passing / perimeter puck control, but it seemed at least that he was able to find some time and space and made some creative plays - his speed was evident too. If he tightens things up, picks his spots a bit better which I'm sure Mike will bash into him, he should be pretty good.
I'd expect him to get benched a few times and sat a bunch this year as he learns this stuff, but can't imagine him going back to Junior. Too bad he can't do some AHL time though.
Exhibition or not always nice to beat the Habs...good game
Habs lit Anderson up for 6g on 32 shots last night, mind you he didn't get much support from his team , RIelly a -4 on the night, Mathews and a few others -3
