Chuck Jones, the president of United Steelworkers Local 1999, told The Washington Post on Tuesday that the president-elect had “lied his *** off” when he claimed he had saved 1,100 jobs at the Carrier furnace plant in Indianapolis from going to Mexico. That was pretty much backed up by the chief executive of United Technologies, the parent company of Carrier, who said on CNBC that he would automate the plant and lay off many of the workers anyway.

I saw Chuck Jones on CNN this morning, and he expressed himself in measured terms using facts, not unlike his tweets. In other words, a local union representative sounded more presidential than the President-elect.

I'm sadly realizing that Mr. Trump will never change. The only thing that has changed is that the thin-skinned bully will now bellow, bluster and befuddle from the office of the Presidency.

Apparently Trump spoke to Duerte, the President of Phillipines on the phone and congratulated him on his war on drugs and corruption.

Duerte is executing drug dealers and drug users by having police go to their homes and shoot them without trial. He says to expect another 20,000-30,000 executions. "Slaughter them all" are his words. Many drug users have made themselves known to police as they were promised help. They are either locked up or a couple of henchmen pay them a visit and shoot them in front of their families.

I cannot fathom how a man who will lead a country that symbolizes freedom and a constitution respecting the law and a right to trial can condone this.

Is this what he visualizes for the U.S.?

I'm sadly realizing that Mr. Trump will never change. The only thing that has changed is that the thin-skinned bully will now bellow, bluster and befuddle from the office of the Presidency.

As was pointed out by people wiser than I during the election, Trump is now 70, has been in the public eye most of his life, and has not changed his ways at all over that time. Thinking he might now would not be a good bet to take.

I am sure some businesses are going to be rubbing their hands with glee as regulations are eased and polluters are free to do their thing again.

Who knows, Volkswagen might be hailed as heroes for getting around EPA restrictions. Their stock price has a sharp uptick in the last few days.
