Bozak is our best face off man, trading for picks might not be the best move. A package for a better Dman would be helpful.

I am not sure there is much of a market for Bozak.

I am concerned about Gardiner, he has played terrible all year. Never skates the puck out of the end, just stupid long stretch passes that are tipped in to negate icings. That's OK for 4th line muckers, but not for the majority of the Leafs, somewhat soft, forwards who are not retrieving those pucks.
If it's not a stretch pass it usually is a soft, no look, chip along the boards that is picked off.

Seems more like a league wide strategy for moving the puck through the neutral zone. Gardener is not the only leaf to do that either.

Agreed, but we don't need a pick right now, we need defensive help. A package with Bozak for a young #2 Dman would help a lot.

If we can keep Komarov and JVR for reasonable amounts, I'd be all for it; we definitely shouldn't keep Bozak though. He's not that good at face-offs anymore, gets bumped off the puck easily (more often than not), isn't that defensive (as in has one of the worst +/-'s on the team), isn't scoring much, etc - if we can get a pick for him before the trade deadline, that'd be pretty amazing!

I'd like to see Bozak moved and Willy move into his spot. Willy being the third center, with slick wingers (Kapanen). Bozak I think will return some valuable assets.

I've heard there is a decent market for Bozak but right now it's our salary dump for your salary dump. As the deadline gets closer perhaps draft picks will be the offer.

Aaltonen can replace Bozak.

Didn't realize Adam Oates, Eddie the Eagle (Belfour) and Cujo (Joseph) weren't drafted - that's pretty impressive on their part to stick with it til' they got their chance!

Could be but the Oilers are an example of why trading secondary scoring is a mistake. By next year the Leafs will have 3 openings at forward plus Martin plays a dinosaur game. Beyond Leivo, Kappy, Johnsson and Grundstrom there isn't a lot. The Leafs don't have a single junior forward of note as they concentrated on d-men in the draft. Timashov, Dzerkials, Bracco and Marchment are all long shots.

Still wish they hadn't lost Leipsic....he is playing well for Vegas.

I think what it got down was him or Rychel were going to be lost and myself, I'd rather have Rychel as they (after looking on hockeydb.com) have similar numbers with the exception to penalty minutes. We have plenty of smaller forwards but Rychel has size and an edge. Would have been nice to have kept both.

Brendan Leipsic's okay; in 15 games, he's got 7 assists... Who else would you guys have preferred to have lost to Expansion?

McDavid apparently a game time decision with a bad cold. In any event if he plays it will most probably be Kadri vs McDavid.
