Boston pretty much took care of Tampa Bay the other day with no issues; and yeah, I agree they play mean, fast and skilled hockey so I think playing Tampa Bay would probably be more ideal. That being said, we did beat Boston the last time we faced them and WITHOUT Auston Matthews so I suppose that's probably something we can draw from if we end facing Boston instead...

Should be a beauty of a game tonight against the Jets (Matthews vs Laine - round 4); I hope Matthews gets a hat-trick! :-D.

      just looked up Laine's numbers...WOW , 43 goals , only second to Great 8 with 45.

Winnepeg like Boston can bang or play with speed and skill. Slipped a bit in second half, heard something like 270 man games lost to injury so far , about 1/3 of The Leafs., or so they said.

been looking forward to this one for a while.

        • Looks like we're facing Boston; I think its a series that can go either way... Leafs won the season series 3-1 so I don't see what's stopping them from pulling it off! GLG...

Boston is a lot better than they were at the beginning of the season, but then, so are the leafs. It will be interesting to see how the Leafs handle a physical series.

            • Should be a great series, I expect it will go 6 or 7 but the Leafs will come through for their first series win in 14 years.

              • We certainly need to exorcise some demons. Not sure I'm ready for 200 replays of the last collapse v Boston. That was painful and I'm sure the media will not hesitate to repeatedly dip into that well.

Hopefully Chara has been riding the bike - he's going to be chasing a lot. This should be an awesome series and while I'm a huge Leaf fan, I think we're 50% at best to win. Bring on the anxiety ;-)

I think all the first round playoff series will be long, all seem like good match ups.

Bruins dont cycle the puck as well down low as TB , something Leafs have struggled with, but Bruins can try to slow the game down and make that work to their advantage. It will be interesting to see how the officiating goes, Bruins want to be physical but cant do so at risk of penalties with Leafs potent PP.

teams are pretty even up front (scored essentially the same number of goals on season) similar stats in net. Bruins gave up fewer goals and are better defensively. Home ice advantage and more playoff experience might just give the Bruins the edge to take the series.

                  • I was looking athe NHL playoff schedule, and on Wdnesday April 18, the Tampa - NJ game is on Golf Channel. Maybe Frank Nobilo will do play by play?

                    • For Immediate Release:
There is an uprising of serious discord amongst the Boston Bruins hockey team! Overheard in their dressing room this morning; Team Captain Chara admitting he will be a scratch this evening as he has a hang nail and told the others to “get their own excuse” as there is real terror that resides in the bottom of their hearts for what is coming. Multiple players on their phones speaking to their agents (hoping) looking for a clause in their contract that can keep them out. Management has reached out to their AHL affiliate for anyone with a strong stomach.

                      • Leafs in six or seven. Their depth wins out.

I think so too, would prefer leafs in 6 though. Boston has to stay out of the penalty box in my opinion.

Agree and they are likely a better team as well, and better coached. It would really help if they can get it done in 5 or even 4-if they make it they will need all their strength for the following rounds-especially if they play Pittsburgh or Washington etc
