For those who make their coffee check out this guy on youtube (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCMb...BNi-QqPk5T3gsQ)

I'm not a coffee drinker but I'm in charge of making coffee in the mornings. Went from drip coffee to pour over coffee following the methods from the link above and my wife can't go back to drip coffee anymore. Somehow I took a simple task and now spend significantly more time making coffee in the morning but as they say... happy wife happy life!

I've had an espresso setup for some time now and drink mostly straight espressos and cappuccinos.

For most of my life we were brewing our own cofee the simple and cheap way.
But after 25 years of daily use, our $25 Braun Grinder died last year and my Lovely Wife suggested to try a jar of Nescafe's instant coffee, which happened to be on sale at Food Basics at the time, LOL. It was "love at first sight" and we never went back to brewed coffee since, and at 8 cents/cup, how can we complain
Tried a variety of diff Instant Coffee Brands but seem to like most the Tatster's Choice. We have yet to try Van Houtte but at $10 for 100 gr jar, not likely any time soon, LOL.
        How about you ?
Cheers to all and hope we get to golf soon
Very Old if you are looking for the best tasting instant coffee you won't do better than this one.
It is so good I urge others to give it a try, it might change your opinion on Instant Coffee, I always keep a jar or two on hand for when others want instant coffee. FWIW I used to own a small coffee bar in Italy.

        Nescafe's Gold Espresso.
Price can vary from $4.99 to $8.99 so shop wisely.

Have stopped ordering from my supplier in Vancouver and am now using Kirkland Signature whole bean in my Cuisinart Grind and Brew maker.
Decent, balanced dark roast coffee at a very attractive price - 82 points, November 2012.

            Thanks so much
We tried the "Reg. Gold" but not yet the "Espresso". We also liked the NESCAFÉ Gold Origins Sumatra, all on sale, of course, usually <$5

Probably will give that a try, I updated my previous post with some additional information.

Hi, just saw your updated post - REALLY, you owned a coffee shop in Italy - HOW AWESOME IS THAT Where abouts ?

I spent my young years on an Island across Italy in the Adriatic Sea. While not part of Italy now, it used to be, under Roman Empire, and even 70 years ago, as a kid, I remeber old fisherman still spoke mostly Italian, when they were "bidding" who gets which fishing sea area to spread their nets that night, LOL.
And is that a pic of your shop, really ?
                tutto il meglio

Oh, and thanks for the link to your old thread. And re. the Nescafe Sumatra Gold, never saw it in local stores but is available on Amazon.ca for $4.99

For Coffee I have a Behmor 1600 that I roast my own (green beans from greenbeanery.ca), usually brew a whole pot with a Breville precision brewer. The Expresso fix is the Kirkland house expresso bean on a Breville barista 870. I do occasionally get lazy and buy a bag of roasted beans depending on what's on sale at Costco... the latest pickup was a williams sumatra that I have not tried and some expresso beans (Cafe Fantini). Greenbeanery had a sale on Blue mountain beans a little while ago and still working though that stockpile.

Yup. We use a variety of brands and flavours, but the convenience is very nice.

Keurig users here while it’s still functional. With the amount we’ve been consuming with both working from home we’ve gone to the reusable filter to minimize the amount of pods we were going through - it’s been trial and error for what grinds work with it, but we’ve found a few flavours that we like.

After reading all of the posts, I would conclude that I would be considered a coffee snob. Although, I certainly don't consider myself one. I have a Bonavita coffee maker. Extremely happy with it, have had it for about 8 years, and would recommend it to all.

As for coffee. It's the same as recommending beer or wine. Subjective tastes, and to many, a cheap coffee is a good coffee. I'm currently drinking Bridgehead, and again would highly recommend this brand.

For supermarket brands, Peets is number one. Can't get it in Canada though, so with the Covid crisis, my weekly trips to the U.S. have been curtailed, and therefore am currently missing it immensely. McCulloughs is good, and they have a store in Oakville.
