You have combined what were two distinct paragraphs.

    Taken from AI :
A new paragraph is generally used to signal a shift in focus, idea, or direction within a piece of writing. This includes changes in time, place, topic, or speaker. Essentially, each new paragraph should introduce a distinct point or element related to the overall topic.
Or was it just intended to be a humorous comment?

    • Mike Wilner providing 'good news and bad news' regarding the Jays' rehabbing pitchers.

There are good days and bad days all along the way and Wednesday afternoon, in his first rehab start at Triple-A, Alek Manoah had a bad day.

Manoah did not look like himself on Wednesday, but again he’s only 14 months post-surgery.

Justin Crawford the Phillies’ No. 3 prospect ripped a two-run double toward the right-field corner — the only well-hit ball off Manoah over his short afternoon’s work.

Because of the rules of the rehab, Manoah was lifted after throwing 27 pitches in the second inning having only recorded two outs. Teams can’t risk having pitch counts get to 30 in a single inning. His fastball topped out at 92.1 miles per hour.

Manoah sees a positive in Wednesday’s rough day, in which he gave up three runs on two hits, while walking three, hitting another and striking out one. “At the end of the day, you still have to remember that the arm feeling good ... the elbow bouncing back good is priority number one.”

Shane Bieber, acquired at the trade deadline from the Cleveland Guardians, is two months ahead of Manoah on the surgical recovery calendar and has looked very much like himself in two rehab starts for the Bisons. He’ll have one more Friday, and will almost certainly be back in the majors for his next one.

        poor journalism
What is he sensationalizing? He posted factually what happened, he's not wrong, Manoah needs to build for 2026 at this point.

        • Something to look for, from Jay's batters over the next few games.

From Mitch Bannon in The Athletic

This Jays lineup has flourished all year with a mix of high contact and low strikeouts. They lead baseball in contact rate (79.1 percent) and strikeout rate (17.3 percent).

In the next five days, they’re set to face four of the best pitchers in baseball this season. Each owns an ERA below 3.00.

Toronto isn’t a particularly patient team. It sees the second-fewest average pitchers per plate appearance and owns a league average walk rate. Against elite pitching, though, it employs patience.

The Jays have a recipe. They scratch runs against top starters using the same contact-based formula they employ every game, while pushing up pitch counts to chase the league’s best early.

Overall, the Blue Jays average 3.33 walks per nine innings. Against top starters, with lower walk rates than normal, they average 4.12.

The result is Toronto holding the league’s best pitchers to just 5.73 innings per start.

This isn't a dress rehearsal. Enjoy yourself. There's no do-over.

              • A win on 3 hits.

Scherzer could start one of the first 3 playoff games if he keeps pitching like this.

                  • Vladdy just being Vladdy. Best player on the best team in the AL. He comes and plays every game . . . some of the haters might have their head exploding . . .
If you think it's hard to meet new people, try picking up the wrong golf ball.

If you had the money to start your own team tomorrow and they said you can have one player to start with, would it be Vladdy.

I can think of a few I would take first, but he would be up there.

As your AI reference states, each paragraph should introduce a distinct point or element related to the overall comment.

As the post you quoted and responded to was about Manoah and his rehab start, yes, I related the two paragraphs to that overall topic.

The hitter was Owen Casey from Burlington Ontario making his MLB debut, caught a 5am flight to make it to Toronto.
Kid probably thought his very first MLB hit was going to be a double but Schneider almost went full Jim Edmunds to rob him.

Here is one of the greatest catches I’ve seen.

I questioned Scherzer's signing at the beginning of the season. He is proving is worth now. I hope he continues on this run. I'd be glad to be wrong this time.
