  • Korn Ferry Tour replaces Web.com Tour

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Florida – The PGA TOUR and Korn Ferry (NYSE: KFY) announced today a 10-year agreement making the Los Angeles-based, global organizational consulting firm the Umbrella Sponsor of the newly named Korn Ferry Tour.

In replacing Web.com, Korn Ferry’s sponsorship takes effect June 19 and extends through the 2028 season. The Korn Ferry Tour will continue to award PGA TOUR membership to the Tour’s 50 leading players, including the top 25 from the Regular Season points list and the top 25 from the three-event Korn Ferry Tour Finals points list.

Definitely great news, we have seen these changes in the past, and this one looks really good and will around for at least the initial 10 year stint. Should make a lot of young up and coming golfers really happy, too.

Gotta find a name change or a shortening. KF Tour or something. All the other name sponsors of the AAA league at least had out of golf name brand exposure. Has anyone ever heard of these people before?

Just curious.... why is it such great news and exciting for up and coming golfers?

The title sponsor of the developmental tour is about as important as if Air Canada or Scotiabank Aden on the marquee at 40 Bay.

Your comparison is quite ridiculous, to say the least.

Maybe if you did a little reading on the subject matter you would realize how significant this partnership is to the PGA. I assume you did know that after web.com was sold, the new owners did want anything to do with golf even though the deal was suppose to be good through 2022.

Pretty harsh response for a guy who just asked why. When the tour changed from Nationwide to Web.com, what did the average fan notice that was different from the Air Canada to Scotia swap? Honestly not a bad comparison. I get the value for the advertiser and the revenue for the tour helps, but what is special about Korn Ferry especially relative to the tour?
