Though just more gossip rag stuff... the idea of the greatest sportsman to ever live retiring in his prime in order to save his marriage seemed to deserve its own thread.

As much as I love my wife, she knows I could never give up sports. I can't even imagine being one of the best at something, and having to give it up.

But this story also has these in the paper... So not the most respected I would think...

if this was true ... i wonder what tiger would do .. i think i would stop playing and spend more time with my wife and 2 young kids considering what he has done to them .its not like he really needs to golf anymore anyways . only reason hes playing is because of jacks record

I would certainly hope so.....let's see.....do I continue to play a game or do I try and salvage a life with my wife and children

Elin, 29, has agreed to stay with the billionaire star for the sake of$60 million dollars, a new prenup that only commits her to 2 more years or marriage and her own house.

But she has given him the stark ultimatum: "no more women outside this house, if I stay with you and this breaks again I will really look like i'm here just for the $$$

Yeah, but how much less golf does he really need to play to spend more time at home. He could cut out the overseas events, and the silly season events, and the corporate appearances, and then he would be golfing only 16 events or so.

What gets me about this is that there are millions and millions of regular guys(and gals) who work hard at their jobs, 48 or 50 weeks of the year, year in year out, who manage to make their family life work, and who are faithful.

We will agree to disagree. Not sure why you had to do so with so many dots.

If the claim is true... its the strongest most important aspect of this entire story, a story in which seems to be getting the most news attention in the sporting biz this year.

If Tiger Woods retired from golf it would completely turn the industry upside down. He changed the yearly purse on the PGA Tour from $75,000,000 to almost 300,000,000 in one decade. It wouldn't surprise me if purses returned to that, most tournaments would drop their sponsorship, especially in todays economy. Networks would drop tournaments.. It would just anger a hell of a lot of people, thus I thought it was threadworthy.

the sun isn't the only one reporting the story as well, it is just the only one I linked. I know its hard to trust gossip rags but they have been pretty accurate with a lot going on with the tiger stuff.

Golf means nothing in my life compared to my wife and child... I could stop playing tomorrow if I had to and never look back!
