The Nike product at Winners is either last year's stock or "made for" Winners product (which is usually composed of cheaper materials).
I doubt there is any such thing as a "made for winners" product. I'd love to hear where you heard that. That's not their business model. Every shirt I have ever bought their I have seen in GT or online and is legit.
As for last year's model, yes, but really, who cares?

When and which Winners can we find Nike golf shirts?
I have been to many Winners and can never find any. The most I've seen are some adidas polos I think.

You can find them mainly from spring through the summer - I've seen shirts at most Winners/Marshall's I've been to; Downtown, Markham & Scarborough (except Cedarbrae Mall)

I'm in Ottawa, but pretty much every one I have ever been to has them. They won't arrive until late winter/spring though. I've seen Puma, Adidas, Nike, Callaway, Travis Mathew, Hollas, you name it....

Nike (like other apparel manufacturers) manufacture products that are sold at "lower end" retailers. Yes, you will find some product that GT has sold but finding some of their premium pieces is very hit and miss. Usually, I've found that it's basic tees, polos, and track pants.
Winners and Marshalls cannot run a chain on just random end of the line product. They need a steady flow of inventory. The pieces are legit but a lot of it is made for that lower price point. The best example I can give you Polo, which has numerous lines or labels that are geared towards certain retailers. Michael Kors is another.
Don't get me wrong, I still drop into Winners every now and then but you have to be an informed shopper. From your description, it seems like you've gotten some good deals, so good on you.

this is somewhat correct and somewhat incorrect, it's a mixture of both but mainly closeouts and end of line.

I don't Think Nike makes "Winners specific" clothing.
Nike will may make different quality/priced clothing for specific retailers i.e. The Bay - Crappy Nike Golf; Sport Chek - Nicer Nike Golf; Golf Town - TW line. (Just as example, not really picking on the Bay )
Winners/Marshalls just buys it all - closeouts, overstocks, returns, cancelled orders, etc.
Generally, they will price each tier appropriately. I've bought cheaper Nike golf shirts, for $25, nicer stuff at $35 and TW/Pro-line shirts at $50.
Anything you find at Winners/Marshalls is always hit or miss.

Since the Canadian MSRP is now more or less adjusted to reflect usdcad at 1.30-1.40, 40% off Canadian MSRP no longer much of a deal. Shirts are now $120 reg price when it used to be $90-$100... sigh

Even though I love the new stuff Nike has been coming out with, the prices are quite ridiculous.
With respect to the Nike @ Winners convo - I've also seen stuff there in Spring. Nothing top line though, very basic stuff. IMO, no point in paying $2/39.99 for basic polo with a swoosh on it
Golftown is notorious for doing 40+% sales off inflated original prices only. Cheapest "golf shirt" in the sale is 47.96. Plus taxes of course. Not much of a sale.
