Just watched the FBI DOJ presser on the capitol hill protest. Charges to date are the low hanging fruit.

Paraphrasing: You will be shocked at some of the charges coming. This is the broadest investigation the FBI has handled with charges ranging from simple trespass to sedition.

I suspect we will be hearing about the more serious cases for well over a year. That will take us into the next Senate election cycle with implications for the GOP given some of the rhetoric pre and post the capital hill protest.

The lack of logic from the majority of people who comment on politics is appalling. There are very few who are consistent in their principles. Everything, at the end of the day, comes down to the quest for power. In just one (terrible) event, nearly every member of congress and the media (left and right) have been exposed as nothing more than hypocritical wind bags.

One of the 'few' people who have remained consistent in their principles is Tulsi Gabbard, who I had hoped would be the Democrat nominee, and who I would have supported in an election against Trump even though her policy agenda is much different than mine. She is the traditional definition of a 'patriot', even though her politics are much too progressive for my liking, at the very least she would have united the 'center' of the country around 'love for the country'. Unfortunately she is no longer a member of Congress. I can't think of many others who can be included in this conversation, perhaps Mike Lee of Utah, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Joe Manchin of WV.
