Trump knows that there won't be much to cover prior to noon when Biden is sworn in. However, if Trump has a send-off at Andrews and then 2.5 hours later has his arrival in West Palm Beach, he knows that he'll get some coverage. If he left Washington at 10:00AM, then his arrival in Florida would not be newsworthy up against the first hours of the Biden presidency.

Also, Trump's 8:00AM departure time is a ready-made excuse for a low turnout at the airport.
Even Pence is using saying he can't make it from Andrews to the capitol building in less than four hours!

Read that the guest invites asked them to be at the base by 6 AM?

Bannon may end up being more 'useful' to the feds than he is to Trump.

By accepting a pardon, Bannon foregoes his privileges under the Fifth Amendment against self-incrimination, therefore he has no legal grounds for refusing to testify against Trump.

your last comment is just ridiculous. a significant percentage of these are non-violent drug offenders. surely somebody who has served 13 years of a 20 or 30 year sentence for conspiracy to distribute has enough money to 'buy' a pardon.... geez louise.

Of course, if the AFB Andrews send-off turns out to be a bust, the 3-hour flight will give organizers in Florida more time to make their best efforts to have people when Trump arrives. And, of course, none of them will be wearing masks...
