You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.
You can show a conservative the facts, but you can't make them think

Furthermore 'entering' is explained as "
entering a place without invitation with the intent to commit an indictable offence and may be sufficient grounds for being charged, even in cases where no property is stolen or damaged"
(Pyzer Criminal Lawyers) and it is an indictable offense in Canada.

As for the deaths and injuries suffered by the law enforcement officers, we have already demonstrated that in Ontario they would be accepted as 'job related'.

I'm not trying to lead him anywhere. I'm trying to understand exactly what he does and does not think is serious with respect to January 6th.

Some numbers to consider. Over 500 defendents have been charged. 300 more suspects have not been arrested yet. 150+ have been charged with assault or impeding an officer, so far. 50 have been charged with using a deadly or dangerous weapon. 150 officers were injured.
I assume you disagree they were attempting to start a process where Trump would remain president which would be clearly illegal and definitely not democratic. Just what were the goals of the 100+ armed "protestors" who breached the capital on Jan 6. You seem to disagree with how it's being interpreted. In your opinion, what was it?
What were they armed with? Buffalo heads? It was a bunch of misguided ding dongs that were out acting stupid. I don't think they were "terrorists" by any stretch of the imagination. That the guy pled guilty does not persuade me in the slightest. Line up the resources of the U.S. justice department on a witch hunt and the odds are stacked against you - they leave you with one of two choices:

            1. Plead guilty and serve a ridiculous amount of time for a made up charge.
            2. Hire a lawyer and bankrupt your family before we put you in jail for a ridiculous amount of time for a made up charge.

Not much of a choice is it?

There was absolutely persons in that mob who entered the Captiol with firearms. They also had zip-tie handcuffs among other items. Re read the threads on it. I’m not going digging up links for things you missed ignored.

Semi-automatic sidearms are not buffalo heads. Several charged with firearms violations.
So it was just a walk in the park gone awry? Is that what you think happened in Jan. 6?
What did "stop the steal" mean to many of them?

They would be charged with breaking and entering - not "terrorism". Then again the Capitol building isn't my house now is it?

I havent been following too closely, were any of the people charged with firearms violations (concealed carry, etc) inside the Capitol? Were they on the Capitol grounds? Or did they attend the rally at the Ellipse?

                            Some detail here,
The defendant, Guy Reffitt, is accused of carrying a semi-automatic handgun while on U.S. Capitol grounds on January 6.

As I read it, on Capitol grounds.

One of the officers testifying today. Suffered a minor heart attack had surgery for injuries and will require more surgery.

You did not answer the question. Serious?

Now tell me the story(ies) about even a single police officer from the 'summer of love', and I will take you seriously.
