Not sure what other than a coaching change and likely adding Kane. The stars are unerring long term contracts so can’t jump ship but mcdavids and drei’s best years are being wasted

Saw that . . . so happy for him. He was with our Rouyn-Noranda Huskies when they won the league in 2016 . . . very nice player . . . he is also going to the All-Star game . . .

Habs hit rock bottom by losing 5-2 to Arizona. It's gonna take years to fix this team with so many bad contracts. I predicted they would be bad but have exceeded all expectations.

They have the highest cap hit in the league but are in last place.

The only upside is they host the draft and are the leading candidate in the Shane Wright sweepstakes.

I'm not sure it would make a huge difference. Sure Price is good when he is playing well but at $10M is way too much to pay for a goalie (almost $13M when you add in Allen). Weber was going to be a long term problem with the miles he had on him. Other than that, lots of bad contracts that are going to be difficult to trade. And all those guys haven't been out since game 1.

I think a healthy lineup, especially with Price would make a big difference, we saw that last year. Without the injuries and with Price many expected them to be battling for that last wild card spot......

They played well above their heads in the playoffs and went on a hot streak in the playoffs. They were 18th in the league and snuck into the playoffs. With the realigned divisions (and a tough East division), they would have struggled to make the playoffs and the competition would have been a lot tougher. Even if they were playing at last years pace they would have little chance of making the playoffs. Fact is, this team is built terribly and they will be eating a lot of salary if they decide to make some trades or do buyouts. With a flat cap, that's gonna make for a long rebuild.

With the divisional set up last year there is no validity to saying they were 18th. They were the beneficiaries of a weak division and got healthy at the right time, rode a hot goalie and found a nice run.

Things are tougher in the present alignment but still, Price is a game changer , every game and they have been without their top players too long. That isn't all that is wrong, but without the injuries and with Price they would very likely be ahead of Detroit and all below that in the standings.
